Midland Womens Cross Country League 11th January 2014 Droitwich

The 3rd race in the Midlands Cross Country League saw the TAC women at Droitwich Spa. I had heard the legend of the "ditch" so I was slightly relieved to find it had been taken out of the course. The mud, lying surface water, tree roots and blinding low sunshine made up for the missing ditch and made a flat course quite challenging.

The TAC old girls finished strong with Claire Martin in 2nd (behind World Triathlon Champion, Non Stanford), Michelle Clarke 38th, Nellie Sanders 91st, Julie Kirby 99th and Sharon Clayton 154th. This pushed the TAC old girls up to 1st in the Masters (21points ahead of 2nd place Stratford AC) and they are now lying in 3rd place in the 2nd Division.

The 4th and final fixture in the Midlands league is on the 8th February at Cheltenham.
